This vital resource ensures clean water for millions across 13 Dallas cities, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to both education and sustainability. This innovative facility also serves as a cost-effective alternative to new reservoir construction.
Wetland plants & sunlight naturally filter treated wastewater from the East Fork of the Trinity River, removing 95% of sediment, 80% of nitrogen, and 65% of phosphorus.

Since our doors opened, we have conducted trend-setting research on wildlife species, and we’ve transformed the lives of over 60,000 K-12 grade students through cutting-edge science education and fieldwork. As a community resource, we have enriched the lives of 30,000 adult visitors with immersive ecological field trips.
